A recent study reported that visual impairment with age could be a warning sign of a stroke or heart attack, according to "Express". This means that a certain form of macular degeneration in the eye is linked to cardiovascular disease.


According to the new study, conducted by researchers at New York's Mount Sinai Eye and Ear Hospital, patients with a certain form of age-related macular degeneration are more likely to have primary heart damage from heart failure, heart attacks, or carotid artery disease.
